Not much is known about the Interloper War mentioned in Twilight Princess , but its placement on the official Zelda timeline may have some deeper implications for the series when combined with the lore about BOTW ’s two Calamities. Assuming that the Zonai truly are the ancestors of the Twili people sealed away to end the Interloper War, then it’s possible that this group was among the first to attempt to revive the Demon King after Demise was sealed away in Skyward Sword . While the vague legend about the Twili’s origins leaves plenty of room for interpretation, it’s possible that the Interloper War has since become known as the First Great Calam   The hieroglyphs also show a bird-like figure surrounded by seven teardrop shaped spirals. Since birds are associated with wisdom, this image could be Hylia shedding tears for the kingdom named after her. However, there's a theme in Zelda of having seven sages seal away evil. In that case, the Zonai could have been the bird-like creatures seen in the war image, and the summoner of the evil could be shown as being surrounded by the sa   If Link falls in battle at the end of Ocarina of Time , the Demon King is free to claim the Triforce and lay waste to Hyrule until the Seven Sages successfully seal Ganon inside the Sacred Realm . If Link is victorious, Princess Zelda uses the Ocarina to send him back to his original era, breaking the timeline into two separate paths as the Triforce’s pieces are scattered through time. The Triforce of Courage returns to the past with Link, whereas the Triforce of Wisdom remains in the future with Zelda after his depart   In Twilight Princess , Link must work with Midna in order to save both of their realms from Zant as his invasion of Hyrule threatens to resurrect Ganondorf. It’s said that the Twilight Realm, the home of the Twili, served as a prison for an ancient tribe who attempted to use magic to gain control of the Sacred Realm. The connections between BOTW , TOTK , and Twilight Princess thus far seem to suggest that the Twili may be connected to the ancient Zonai tribe that mysteriously vanished from Hyrule long before the events of BOTW , though this is only a theory based on the trailers released for TOTK thus   The hieroglyphs in the Tears of the Kingdom trailer reference some scenes that might be familiar to players who've gone through previous Zelda games. This could hint at Demise's return in Tears of the Kingdom , because there is an image of a floating, unconscious woman in the trailer that is reminiscent of Zelda in Skyward Sword when Ghirahim was using her to bring back Demise. The game's name could refer to the Zonai's attempt to summon evil, which resulted in their own demise and led to a dark era for Hyrule as it worked to surv   The big objectives such as conquering the Divine Beasts, collecting every memory scene, and finishing out the main questline by defeating Ganon and saving Princess Zelda are things that players may have done numerous times before. However, finishing every small objective in BOTW might not be something they've done so often. There's no reward for completing the game to 100%, but it is a nice challenge and no small accomplishment. The time leading up to TOTK 's release is a good opportunity to do things that players still have left in BOTW , and even if they don't have a particular objective, going back and playing through games before sequels release is still very   One possibility for Tears of the Kingdom 's meaning is that Zelda, the princess of Hyrule, will die. After the events of the first game, Zelda presumably is hard at work rebuilding BOTW 's ruin of Hyrule, helping the people who inhabit it as she wished to in the game's final cutscene. As such, it stands to reason that she would be beloved throughout the land. Tears of the Kingdom could refer to Hyrule mourning her after her death. Since Zelda falls into a crevice in the E3 2021 trailer and has not appeared in any footage outside the cave where she and Link find the withered mummy, this is a terrifyingly real possibil   Ocarina of Time is often considered to be the definitive Zelda game as it introduced much of the series’ most important lore while simultaneously splitting its timeline. Ocarina ’s use of time travel via the Ocarina of Time, the Master Sword, and the Door of Time opened the path to the Sacred Realm, allowing Ganondorf to enter and claim the Legend of zelda Triforce. Depending on the outcome of Link’s final battle against Demon King Ganon, the timeline splits into three distinct branches, any of which could be relevant again in TO   So little is known about the Zonai that they could even allow for the return of Twilight Princess characters in Tears of the Kingdom . Since the greatest remains of the tribe are the ruins and symbolism left behind, information about the Zonai relies heavily on speculation and theories relating to the influences of cultures from the real-world. The new trailer offers more material for speculation, and it seems that the Zonai have connections to the Calamities and darker history of Hyrule, whether they were the cause or not. It's looking like players will get to delve further into the mystery of the Zonai and their disappearance in The Legend of _ **_Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
