The possible uses for Ocarina of Time's scrapped portals in Breath of the Wild 2 are plentiful. It is possible that they could be located in strict positions, such as denoted to specific spots in Hyrule Castle. However, one must also consider their potential mobility. If Link can harness their power in BOTW 2 __ and move them, they might provide quicker access to the far reaches of Hyrule that the player would otherwise have a harder time accessing. After all, it's unknown if Link will maintain all of his teleportation points from Breath of the Wild in its sequel. If not, these crystals could prove to be paramount in his journey to aid Zelda and reclaim Hyule from the Calamity. Perhaps Zelda will be playable in BOTW2 , and this is somehow involved with the port   So far it has been revealed that Link will traverse floating islands, exhibiting better vertical exploration in Tears of the Kingdom , and Ganon’s Malice appears to be spewing forth from beneath the ground. Nintendo has no doubt made many suitable changes to pre-existing locations impacted by these upheavals. Given that Breath of the Wild ’s dungeons were located inside the Divine Beasts, it’s even possible that previous areas will now house the dungeons for Tears of the Kingdom . For that reason, it’s worth noting which iconic locations should make a ret   If Hyrule is indeed enveloped by Malice in Tears of the Kingdom , it could change the game drastically. Just like it corrupted the Guardians and Divine Beasts in BOTW , Malice may turn regular animals such as boar and deer into hostile monsters, and may do the same to sentient species like Hylians and Rito. It's established that Malice has the capability to do this since it happened to Naydra in BOTW , and in the very first TOTK trailer , it flows over a rat, which could be another hint that it will corrupt the various inhabitants of Hyrule in BOTW 2 and turn them into powerful enemies and bosses . If this possibility proves true, the game may be much harder than BOTW was due to a lack of people to work at shops and inns, though it's still possible for these services to be pres   Tears of the Kingdom's release date is still months away, but players have plenty of side quests in Breath of the Wild to spend time on until then. Nintendo's silence on TOTK and the trailers that don't reveal much information have led to players forming theories about what the next adventure in Hyrule might feature. Since the rumors rely heavily on speculation, it's possible that none of them will end up being true. However, it seems likely that there will be, at the very least, a connection to Skyward Sword in **The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom   Nintendo hasn't revealed much in the way of information regarding the sequel to **The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild ** , but it is possible that the game could incorporate a scrapped feature from Ocarina of Time . The first animated teaser in 2019 showed Link and Zelda exploring some ruins where they seemingly encountered Calamity Ganon. However, no gameplay footage was shown until E3 2021 when Nintendo released a proper trailer for the game. This trailer shows Zelda falling into a pit of darkness before cutting to gameplay footage that showcases new features coming to the long-awaited seq   Many fans likely have their own personal hopes for returning characters in Zelda: Tears of a Kingdom , but regardless of who ends up being a part of the game's narrative, it won't change the game's protagonist. At this point, Link has come to be the expected main character of every mainline title in the series. While this hasn't always been the case for spinoffs, with games like Hyrule Warriors and Tingle's Balloon Fight DS allowing players to step into the shoes of other characters, and there have been short segments in mainline Zelda games where players could control someone else, a character besides Link has never really gotten the chance to truly sh   It may not even be the Hyrule players are familiar with that gets destroyed. Time and time travel are prominent elements in the Zelda series, and BOTW is not an exception. There's decent evidence to indicate that Link will be sent backwards in time in TOTK , perhaps even as far as the first Great Calamity 10,000 years before the events of BOTW , in which case it could be the event that brings the kingdom to tears. Little is known about this era aside from a story told by Impa, so there's a lot of potential for TOTK to show Calamity Ganon's origins and other events from that time such as the battle between him and the fabled hero and princess. What exactly _Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom music of the Kingdom _ 's name means for its story is too early to tell, but there are a great many exciting possibilit   Breath of the Wild 2 will see Hyrule expanded in a unique way. Whereas players could only traverse land and water in its predecessor, the sequel will take to the skies and see Link exploring floating islands throughout Hyrule, which will add more lore for fans to sink their teeth into. Link also appears able to control time in the sequel. After an enemy launches a mine at Link, he's seen pausing and reversing its path, hitting the enemy instead of himself. Unfortunately, the Breath of the Wild 2 E3 trailer is mostly all players have to speculate on at present, though its updates to Hyrule and Link's abilities look promising. What's become particularly interesting to consider in the meantime, though, is how scrapped features from past games might return in BOT
